APA PsycArticles is a database of full-text articles from just over 120 journals published by the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, Hogrefe Publishing Group and APA's Educational Publishing Foundation.
Bloomberg is a global financial markets database providing economic and business news, analytics, real time pricing for over 5 million securities world-wide. It also includes extensive historical pricing and stock charts.
Bloomberg terminals (computers) are available in the Financial Resources Suite, BANN 230a. You will need an individual account to use the terminal. If you do not already have an account, you can create one at the terminal.

The database incorporates both DataStream and Thomson Reuters’ T1.com which used to be on separate platforms. The International Index to Music Periodicals and the International Index to Performing Arts have combined to allow simultaneous searching of both collections of full text journals and abstracts on the new ProQuest platform along with some other databases. OECD Health Statistics offers the most comprehensive source of comparable statistics on health and health systems across OECD countries, and includes data found in the publication Health at a Glance. It provides data on the health status of the population including obesity (overweight, obese), suicide and life expectancy, health care financing, health care resources, social protection, health care utilization, the pharmaceutical market, long-term care resources and utilization, non-medical determinants of health, expenditure on health, and demographic and economic references, with coverage being provided for OECD and selected non-OECD countries as far back as 1960.
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is an etymological dictionary which is widely acknowledged as the most comprehensive record of the English language, tracing the evolution and use of more than 600,000 words through 3 million quotations. OED Online gives access to latest text of the full Oxford English Dictionary, the Historical Thesaurus of the OED and enable users new ways to explore the English language: Search for new words by year, decade, or any date range. Set language in context: search by place, language type, and date to discover the impact of world events. OED Online is revised and updated at regular intervals and covers British, American, and other varieties of English, and all types of use, from formal to slang.
OUP offers another English dictionary on its Oxford Living Dictionaries platform but please note it has fewer definitions.
Previously published as OHE Compendium of Health Statistics, OHESI offers historical data spanning up to 50 years primarily for the UK, but including some international comparisons, plus The OHE Guide. No password is required to access these data.
EBSCO Open Dissertations now includes the content from American Doctoral Dissertations. It is an open-access database with records for more than 800,000 electronic theses and dissertations from around the world, created from a collaboration between EBSCO and BiblioLabs. It includes abstracts and full text theses available on the British Library's EThOS service.
Financial, and other, data on over half a million companies internationally, including line items for banks and insurance companies. Financial data is available for up to 30 years. Includes public companies (for which stock data is available), and many very large private companies. Searches can be made for individual companies and companies that meet your criteria; peer comparison and other tools are available. This is a Moody’s database, and is on the same platform as the UK company database FAME.
This database offers research results from the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) and its predecessor agencies. Research results include journal articles/accepted manuscripts and related metadata; technical reports; scientific research datasets and collections; scientific software; patents; conference and workshop papers; books and theses; and multimedia. OSTI.GOV contains over 3 million records, including citations to 1.5 million journal articles, 1 million of which have digital object identifiers (DOIs) linking to full-text articles on publishers' websites. OSTI.GOV provides access to this DOE STI by offering numerous easy-to-use search capabilities and customization options.
The Oxford Academic journals collection includes some of the world's most highly cited and prestigious Oxford University Press journals, in a broad range of subject disciplines.
Oxford Handbooks Online includes access to in-depth, high-level articles by scholars at the top of their field. Each handbook offers thorough introductions to topics and a critical survey of the current state of scholarship. The chapters in the handbooks are useful for finding background and theories, and for references to other sources – great for identifying key articles.
Brunel provides access to current and historical business and management handbooks, and to older, but still relevant, handbooks in economics and finance, criminology and music. After searching, use the filters at the left of the results page to limit to handbook chapters that are free or purchased.
Oxford Law Trove contains the content of about 200 law e-textbooks across core and optional modules.
Oxford Music Online includes the full text of Grove Music Online, together with the Oxford Dictionary of Music and the Oxford Companion to Music. It offers comprehensive coverage of music, musicians, music-making, and music scholarship.

Performing Arts Periodicals Database (previous title: International Index to Performing Arts or IIPA) is a bibliographical resource offering access to international periodicals on the ProQuest platform (this has the option to search other databases too). It includes the full text for more than 160 of the 395 indexed journals from around the world from 1864 to date. It currently includes half a million records, the majority from the most recent years of each journal.
Online access to over 288,000 articles from a subset of 80 full text journal backfiles published between 1891 and 2000. This collection was Purchased by JISC Collections and is available free of charge to UK Higher Education institutions.

Euclid Prime is a growing aggregation of well-cited, peer-reviewed journals in mathematics and statistics, only available to institutions. N.B. The Library no longer subscribes to this database so there is no access to articles published since December 2017 (or before January 2006). Articles published Open Access (OA) will be available though.
Project MUSE Humanities Collection provides full-text online access to 164 humanities, arts, and social science journals from 60 scholarly publishers as well as links to Project MUSE content from databases such as America: History and life, Historical abstracts and JSTOR.
ProQuest's unified search platform provides online access to several ProQuest databases including full-text sources like British Periodicals; Film Index International, Music Periodicals Database (formerly IIMP) and Performing Arts Journals Database (formerly IIPA) which contain either abstracts only or some full-text sources. This database searches all these sources simultaneously, or you can change your selection to suit your need.
ProQuest's One Literature database covers literature, language and the arts for literature scholars who need an exhaustive set of scholarly resources around a literary topic for research and course planning. It includes 500,000 primary works and millions of records from journals, monographs, and dissertations. Coverage is extended by the Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL), as well as full text of primary texts, textbooks, works of poetry, drama and prose from the eighth century to the present day.
US National Library of Medicine's digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. This databases indexes millions of citations from scholarly health and medical research sources and offers a broad overview of the literature. PubMed offers a search through 37 million citations and a more user friendly interface and options to refine your search.
Try Europe PMC - an alternative version which indexes the full text source to assist with text mining. Personalised sign in is via one of several services such as ORCiD, Google,etc. For Medical Subject Headings (controlled language indexing), we recommend that you use Medline on Ovid.
This unique resource was developed in partnership by the Bodleian Libraries, the Royal Archives and ProQuest is now openly available. It contains all the personal journals of Queen Victoria (141 volumes and over 43,000 pages, currently for the period up to 1840 with further releases planned throughout this Diamond Jubilee year). The journals previously were only accessible by appointment at the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle. In addition to autograph diaries begun by the youthful Princess Victoria, there are edited versions from her later years, redacted and transcribed by the Queen’s daughter, Princess Beatrice. The site includes an interactive timeline, selections from Queen Victoria’s sketchbooks, and essays about aspects of Queen Victoria’s life, authored by Sir Roy Strong, Laurence Goldman and Peter Ward-Jones.

Access is provided to a selection of the business and management collection, totalling 480 e-books.

Scopus is the largest ever bibliographic database and indexes over 20,000 titles from science, technology, medicine and the social sciences. This abstract only database is updated daily so it is excellent for identifying the emerging research. Use Article Linker (AL - link to full text) to check for full text online sources.
Screen Studies Collection (formerly known as Film Indexes Online) is the result of partnerships with the British Film Institute (BFI) and the American Film Institute (AFI). It provides information on over 100,000 films and references to articles about films, combining three key online resources for research in film: AFI Catalog, FIAF International Index to Film Periodicals, and Film Index International.
The newspapers and news pamphlets gathered by the Reverend Charles Burney (1757 - 1817) represent the largest single collection of 17th and 18th century English news media. The 700 or so bound volumes of newspapers and news pamphlets were published mostly in London, however there are also some English provincial, Irish and Scottish papers, and a few examples from the American colonies, Europe and India.
An international database of Shakespeare on film, television and radio hosted by the British Universities Film & Video Council. It holds over 6,500 records dating from the 1890s to the present day.
Shakespeare Survey is a yearbook of Shakespeare studies and production. Since 1948 Survey has published the best international scholarship in English and many of its essays have become classics of Shakespeare criticism.

SPORTDiscus is the leading bibliographic database for sports and sports medicine research. It includes records from leading sports medicine journals, books, dissertations and more from 1949 to date. Also provides full-text to more than 400 journals listed in the index.

TVTiP provides a unique searchable index to the London edition of the TVTimes, the listings magazine for ITV broadcasts, from September 1955 to March 1985. TVTiP allows users to search for programmes, production staff and performers. It contains approximately 250,000 records. The BUFVC manages this databases on behalf of Bournemouth University. JISC Collections has licensed the U.K. Parliamentary Papers in perpetuity and this is now freely available to all UK universities. The collection contains bibliographic records and searchable full text for House of Commons papers and Hansard reports printed between 1701-2003.
