I currently work both as a Student Ambassador and as a bartender. My weekly schedule does change from week to week, and I am not always required to be in for university, so I typically do things outside of the university. I currently live off-campus through Brunel Lettings, but prior to that, I lived on-campus. The change was definitely noticeable, I went from being on-campus sharing a kitchen with 9 other people, to just 3 of us sharing it.
My typical daily schedule:
- 7.00am: wake up, check notifications and my schedule for the day
- 8.00am: is usually when I typically get up and have breakfast, and start getting ready for the day
- 9.00am: on Fridays, I will be going to my first lecture of three I have on the day. On all other days this is usually when I go in to either attend meetings or begin doing assignments in the library
- between 9.00am and 11.00am I am typically either in lectures or in the library doing some form of university work
- 1.00pm: is typically when I have my lunch. I go home to have it as I am down the road from university, but if I need to I am able to grab a variety of different meals on campus
- between 2.00pm and 5.00pm, I tend to either go back to attend more lectures or to continue university work, after having a break to refresh my mind
- after 5.00pm, I tend to do whatever I have not been able to do during the day, such as housework, or the various things I procrastinate on doing like putting things away in my room
In the evenings, I typically like to relax from about 9.00pm onwards when I have no work, I usually do a few different things. Sometimes I stick on the TV and just relax watching YouTube or playing music, other days I enjoy sticking on the Xbox and just gaming the evening away.
While my schedule may seem daunting and similar to school life, I do have the freedom to an extent to decide my weekly schedule. While I am not able to change lecture times, I am able to control what I do outside of the university, such as with work. So while my timetable may seem hectic some days and quieter on others, I am given a great deal of personal freedom to choose what is best for me.
