Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
Since graduating, I've navigated various global fashion retail organizations, mastering facets like planning, predictive analytics, tech, and finance. I also authored "Look at the Labels," a book diving into the industry's intricacies. This journey has honed my skills and expertise, enabling me to make data-driven decisions, optimize operations, and align strategies with financial goals. Each lateral move has expanded my understanding of the fashion world, making me a valuable asset in this dynamic industry.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
My workday is a dynamic blend of roles. I might be a podcast guest, researching for interviews, crafting speeches, or prepping for panels. Simultaneously, I serve as an employee at one of Europe's leading online retailers, ensuring my responsibilities remain diverse and ever-evolving.
What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?
The pinnacle of my career journey arrived when my book, the result of six years of dedicated work, became available on Amazon. This achievement filled me with pride, not for my own sake, but for the journey's determination and the knowledge that perseverance can yield remarkable results.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
I often say, irrespective of the field of study, university teaches you how to learn. My experience at Brunel University has been pivotal in shaping my journey today. The university's exceptional faculty, with their unique areas of expertise and personal research contributions, offered bespoke insights that enriched my education. Beyond academics, my involvement in the Afro-Caribbean society left an indelible mark. It celebrated our culture passionately, fostering lasting friendships and unwavering support that continue to influence my advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion topics. Brunel University's nurturing environment and diverse community have been instrumental in shaping the person I am today.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose Brunel University for its exceptional Medical Biology course, serving as a stepping stone towards a career in medicine. Its proximity to my home provided comfort, and the university's reputation for excellent teaching affirmed my decision. It was a clear choice that set me on the path towards my aspirations, not in the medical field but a career I have crafted using tools I gained from Brunel.

Handing in my bound and laminated dissertation.
If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?
Never dim your light; be your authentic self. Dive deep into your interests and keep your ears open for new ones. Make the most of your time by learning as much as possible. While it may seem impossible, try to take care of your body in the process. These years can be demanding, but remember, your body has to last you long after university. Stay true to your passions, embrace growth, and prioritize self-care. Your journey is uniquely yours—shine brightly and treasure the experience.
