Which MBA pathway did you undertake?
MBA (Aviation Management)
Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
Since graduating from Brunel, I have founded an Aviation Conglomerate named ESPIRIDI and joined the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the National President of the Aviation Council.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
A typical day is where I wake up and grab a coffee, finish a short workout to some music or go for a run on the beach, check my mail, check insights and trends, brainstorm with my team, consult, work on our shared goals, network with our stakeholders, innovate and strategize for sustainable development, market our actions, check for compliance changes or new requirements and policies, meet with potential investors and partners, work on continuous improvement while maintaining a learning culture, conducting research and so on depending on the need of the hour and the day. I spend time on the Aviation Council to check on their wellbeing and progress. With the current crisis it has been a challenge to be quick enough to survive in the market. I like to spend some time learning new skills and prefer to spend my evenings with developing my hobbies such as music, gaming, sports and art to keep my creativity flowing.
What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?
My career highlight so far was when I was nominated as the National President of the Aviation Council at the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. To know more about us you can follow the WICCI National Aviation Council on social media or visit our website.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
My Brunel experience was indeed very helpful. My dissertation on Sustainable Disruption and Ethical Transformation of AI at Airports is where I discovered my love for strategy and realism. I further founded ESPIRIDI LLP based on my research and I am glad to still be connected with Brunel via the Alumni Network.
Being double accredited and one of the few universities offering the MBA in Aviation Management globally, it gave me a competitive edge in my field, not only in my country but globally as well. I was lucky to gain a scholarship on merit to study my course and later a job as a Research Assistant at the Engineering department while I was studying my MBA. I gained a good amount of exposure and relevant knowledge and it was a good intercultural experience. The inclusion and diversity on campus is amazing.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose to study at Brunel as the university has a high diversity score and is highly ranked and well known globally. Brunel is well known for its education quality and research and it fosters a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. It also focuses on skill development and career development as a part of its curriculum. The faculty and facilities are very good and it gives one good scope for application of the knowledge gained thorough various opportunities where one can create an impact. Thus, Brunel was my preferred choice as it aligned well with my career goals.
What is your best memory of studying here?
I have a gamut of good memories from my time at the University; my favourite being the Library, as I spent most of my time there.
If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?
Make best use of your resources while you are there. Learn as much as you can while you have the opportunity and grow your network and skills.
What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?
It’s a challenging time for new graduates but as it is well known, in difficulty lies opportunity.
