Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
After graduating, I began applying for HR graduate schemes across the UK. I received five job offers from various companies, and accepted a full-time position at Capgemini commencing in August 2021.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
A typical day for me involves screening candidate applications, scheduling interviews, tracking vacancy statuses and managing the end-to-end recruitment process for graduates.
What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?
The highlight of my career journey so far has been winning the Brunel Volunteer of the Year award in 2021.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
Taking part in the extra-curricular activities at Brunel helped me gain confidence when applying for jobs. I have had the opportunity to take part in the Brunel + scheme, the READY programme and various different volunteering activities. All of these have been invaluable opportunities to help me develop myself both personally and professionally.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose to study at Brunel as it is a campus-based university situated in West London. It is close to home and is one of the most diverse universities in the UK.
What is your best memory of studying here?
My favourite memory is studying at Brunel is when I got to take part in the Diwali event and met my partner.
If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?
The one piece of advice I would give to current student’s is don't waste time, sign up to as many societies as possible, read as many books as you can and don't skip your lectures. These three years will go by so quickly and you will miss student life, I can guarantee it!
What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?
Don't give up! Network with professionals on LinkedIn and have faith in the process. It always works out in the end!
