Tell us about your career journey since you graduated…

My first graduate job after university was at Abercrombie and Fitch, as I initially wanted to pursue a career within fashion management. As I had no retail store experience at the time, I worked my way up within the company and started as a Brand Ambassador. My first promotion was to an Operations Lead within the Management team. Soon after, I was promoted to a Keyholder position in which I assisted in the management of the store. My current job is as the Marketing Manager of IBV International Vaults; we specialise in high security private vault facilities for safe storage.

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

My role is diverse, so a typical day involves building the IBV London brand through marketing collateral creation, overseeing website development and creating written copy for the website. I also prepare for our upcoming event and coordinate interviews with the press and media to have articles published about IBV International Vaults. I also build brand partnerships with luxury brands that contribute to the world class IBV experience for our esteemed clients. Lastly, client relationship management is an important part of my role to ensure clients are looked after.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

The highlight of my career is having successfully created a world class experience for our esteemed clients who have a safe deposit box with us. We offer a complimentary VIP Rolls-Royce chauffer service, exclusive rates at London’s best hotels and use of our concierge service. Access to our bespoke events in high-end venues such as IBV Supercar Club. This has further resulted in having secured coverage in some of the biggest publications, such as Bloomberg and The Guardian.

How would you say Brunel helped you to get where you are today?

Brunel has an excellent faculty that provides support and guidance to students throughout their time here and beyond.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

Brunel has one of the best Business Schools in London and was named the winner of the Business School of the Year Award by Times Higher Education in November 2013. I would most certainly recommend Brunel to students interested in a Business degree.

If you could give one piece of advice to new students, what would that be?

Everything is possible when time management is mastered.

What would be your top tip or advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey?

Some may be lucky and secure their dream job right after university, others may not. However, it is important to learn as much as you can within those roles, as these skills will prove to be useful in your next job and in life. Remember to stay focused on your vision and goals. Grab every opportunity that comes your way. Figure out what you are passionate about, and that can lead you to your purpose. Lastly, do not measure your success based on others, as everyone has a different journey.
