Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
After graduating from Brunel University, I returned to India and gained valuable experience working on significant projects in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan. I served as an Engineer within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the Smart City Project in Udaipur, focusing on planning, development, and construction project management. Additionally, I had the opportunity to contribute to the Urban Infrastructure Development Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, aimed at enhancing sewer and water supply systems across multiple towns in the state of Rajasthan.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
A typical workday involved engaging in client meetings to discuss project progress and obtain approvals for designs submitted by contractors. Additionally, I collaborated on developing tender documents based on the approved project plan and provided support to the Project Management Unit (PMU) in releasing the tender for the project.
What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?
I began my career as project staff immediately after completing my master's degree. In less than a year, I was entrusted with a client-side role.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
This experience provided me with valuable opportunities to establish international connections and gain access to a broader spectrum of knowledge and management skills, which significantly contributed to my career advancement.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose this university based on a recommendation from IDP. Upon reviewing the prospectus and learning about the university's campus, accommodation options, and its reputation in the market, I felt confident in my decision to join. Once I began my studies at the university, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of support from the professors. They provided valuable assistance in understanding course materials, exam preparation, and guidance for career progression, all of which played a significant role in shaping my current position. I would wholeheartedly recommend joining Brunel University to experience the opportunities it has to offer.
What is your best memory of studying here?
One of my fondest memories as a student was the karaoke nights every Tuesday. These events provided an excellent opportunity to bond with fellow students, make valuable connections, and create unforgettable experiences during my time as a student. I am also incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I received from my thesis supervisor, Prof. Mujib Rahman. He was an amazing person who helped me at every step of my thesis journey. Even today, if I need guidance, he is always there to assist. With his invaluable help, my thesis was successfully published in 2020.

For me, the standout moments were the lively karaoke nights on Tuesdays, where I not only had a blast but also formed lasting friendships and valuable connections that enriched my student life. I can't thank Professor Mujib Rahman enough for his unwavering support during my thesis journey.
