What are you currently studying?
I am a third year Journalism student currently studying Journalism at Brunel. On our course, we have a good mix of practical and theoretical modules, including Video, Radio, News Writing, Media, Law, Crime and Court, Digital Journalism, Ethics, Journalism History and Magazine!
What makes the Journalism course so unique?
Our course is based in the 'quirky' Antonion Artaud building. We have the luxury of having a dedicated news room, radio suites and private editing suites at our disposal.
My final year consists of my dissertation and live production days. My dissertation in particular is about the use of virtual reality in war reporting and whether it increases the viewers empathetic experience.
What extra-curricular activities do you get involved in?
On top of the course I study, there is also so much to do on campus. We have public lectures that are open to the public, societies including chess, debating, sports that you could join and meet like-mided people, and places to eat like Starbucks and Costa on campus!
All in all, Brunel has prepared me for the real world outside uni. I also met loads of great people and had a lot of fun!
