Design for Health projects lead Med-Tech shortlist at Collaborate to Innovate awards

SimNura awards

From a pool of just five shortlisted Med-Tech projects, Brunel's Design for Health (D4H) programme boasts two projects in the running for The Engineer's 2024 Collaborate to Innovate Awards, a testament to its innovative spirit!

Simlevator (a project by Brunel Design student Maia Heath in collaboration with Physiotherapy colleagues), and Nura (a project by Brunel Design student Kimon Ennes in collaboration with Physiotherapy colleagues, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Different Strokes, The Stroke Association, and Reneural ltd), exemplify our multidisciplinary approach to fostering innovation in education and healthcare.

Project supervisor and Design for Health lead, Dr Gabriella Spinelli, said "Both projects highlight the incredible potential to develop cutting-edge educational propositions at the intersection of Design Engineering and Health. It’s a remarkable achievement that 2 out of 5 med-tech projects recognised at national level are ours, and I am immensely proud of both Maia and Kimon's work."
