RIEm India

The RIEm India (a programme offered by Brunel University London) in partnership with MAHE MILES in 2023-24, is FREE to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India and will show you how to:

  • Identify funding for your innovation
  • Work with researchers to write funding proposals
  • Submit a convincing funding proposal
  • Understand and evaluate route to UK market strategies, including collaborative partnerships

RIEm provides three Full-Day Workshops at MAHE MILES at Bangalore plus five hours of expert mentoring over four months (valued at INR 3,00,000/£3,000), which includes:

  • An assessment
  • Introduction to Brunel, MAHE MILES & other experts
  • A practical session on developing a funding proposal
  • A review of possible funding sources
  • An introduction to selected public and private investors
  • Opportunities for peer to peer support
  • An introduction to UK route to market strategies & partnerships

To join the RIEm India programme you will need:

  • A turnover or investment of £0.5million / 5 Crore INR (evidence required)
  • A product/service/technology ready for development - described in 100 words
  • To have achieved the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 for the proposed solution
  • Little or no previous experience of applying for funding
  • Commitment to attend the workshop and mentoring sessions

I manage partnerships for collaborative research and innovation in health care and medical technology. I facilitate collaborative research and innovation funding partnerships with businesses, investors, public funding organisations, and health care organisations in the healthcare and MedTech sector. I manage collaborative Masterclasses and engagement events for research and innovation capacity strengthening in health and MedTech ecosystem

  • Can you commit to attend 3 full-day workshops in Bangalore (as per the schedule) and receive mentoring support to develop organisational R&I strategy?
  • Brunel University will provide accommodation for outstation candidates.
  • For outstation participants, do you require accommodation support in Bangalore?
  • Please note the participants will not be charged to attend the programme with free accommodation being offered to outstation candidates. Your organisation will be required to reimburse the costs, if a nominated participant fails to attend part or all of RIEm India programme after signing the confirmation letter.

  • Declaration 2: I will report at the venue of the workshop at 12.00 on 31st August and 9.00-5.30 on 1st and 2nd September (at MAHE-MILES); I will be available during the entire tenure of the programme in Bangalore; I shall complete the required tasks as part of the RIEm workshop.
  • Declaration 3: If I am selected to attend the programme, I confirm that I shall pay Rs. 15,590 (Indian Rupees Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety Only) towards a refundable deposit of Rs 15,000 + Processing Fee Rs.500 + GST of Rs. 90 to Brunel University London's authorised payment handling agency in India who will return the refundable deposit of Rs. 15,000 upon the respective participant’s successful completion of RIEm workshop.
  • RIEm India is wholly funded by the Research England and none of those attending is required to pay or otherwise provide funding to any third party for attendance other than the refundable deposit along with a nominal payment handling fee.
