Computer Science academics (Dr Alaa Marshan and Dr David Bell) receive a grant for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Project between Brunel University London and Advanced Logic Analytics (ALA) Limited.

The FinTech project will utilise novel AI and semantic techniques to develop a library of predictive emotion-based models that utilise financial news. The interplay between emotion and sentiment are the basis of many trading decision. Financial product and market segmentation will enable the project to develop new more specialised predictive models and algorithms. The project will run from 2021-2023 and will be in partnership with Advanced Logic Analytics (ALA) Limited.

The team have received a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) grant totalling £190,488. The KTP programme allows UK businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the use of the knowledge, technology and skills of researchers within higher or further education institutions.
