Dr. Yongmin Li receives a grant for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Brunel University and Veritas Advisory.

Dr. Yongmin Li from the department of Computer Science has received a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) grant totalling £190,060. Prof. Xiaohui Liu will also be acting as co-investigator for this project. The KTP programme allows UK businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the use of knowledge, technology and skills of researchers within higher or further education institutions.

The project, titled "AI-Assisted Tax Assessment", will run from 2021-2023 and will be in partnership with Veritas Advisory. The aim of this project is to develop an automated system for capital allowance assessment to collate and categorise the data required, and to automatically generate tax claim reports that comply with the complex regulations. With the new Structure and Buildings Allowances, more companies can now benefit from expanded tax relief and you can delve deeper into the project.
