Brunel’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Centre aims to get children of all ages excited about science and technology. It features an array of exhibitions and work areas to help inspire young minds.
As one of the newest buildings on campus, many technologies seen in other areas of the trail have been incorporated into this building, including photovoltaic panels, temperature regulation systems and rainwater harvesting.
A series of pipes are installed 130m below ground. The pipes are all linked. Water is pumped out of the ground through a heat exchanger to feed the radiators in Winter and helps cool the building in Summer.
