Named after Emeritus Professor Heinz Wolff, the building is home to The Brunel Institute for Bioengineering, a multi-disciplinary research organisation producing new and innovative solutions for health, medicine and surgery.
27 Photovoltaic Cells totalling 43.9m2 are fixed to the façade of the research laboratory located on the roof of the Heinz Wolff building. Photovoltaic Cells generate electricity when exposed to direct sunlight and this installation is estimated to produce 5,700 kWh per year. In 2014/15 the Heinz Wolff building used 1,675,000 kWh of electricity.
