On 16th November, Brunel Law School staff, students and alumni were welcomed to the House of Commons for an evening of networking. Hosted by Brunel alumnus Shailesh Vara MP, the sold out event was an opportunitity for current students to gain some wisdom from our graduates.
Alumni from the 1970s through to 2017 were present, supporting our current students with advice and tips for their future careers.
The evening started with a welcome speech from Shailesh, followed by Arad Reisberg, Head of Brunel Law School. Bridget Lavin from the Professional Development Centre then spoke about our mentoring schemes, before Professor Alexandra Xanthaki shared some information on the amazing work being done through the Athens Refugee Project.
During the evening, attendees also had the chance to go on a House of Commons tour.
The Brunel Law School are introducing two mentoring schemes in partnership with the Professional Development Centre, in-person and e-mentoring, to offer current students ongoing support and encouragement in their studies and for their future.
The next event will be 'Brunel Law on the Sofa', hosted on 7 March 2018 with Blake Morgan.
