In a heartfelt ceremony attended by colleagues and well-wishers, Professor Felicity Kaganas bid farewell to Brunel Law School, marking the end of a distinguished career at Brunel that spanned decades.
Professor Kaganas, who is a prominent academic in her areas of teaching and research, has been an integral part of the Brunel Law School community since she joined in 1986.
Over the years, she has contributed immensely to the field of law and played an important role in shaping the academic landscape at Brunel. In particular, she has made significant contributions in the areas of family and child law as well as feminist theory.
Known for her expertise and a strong sense of duty, Professor Kaganas has been a mentor and inspiration to countless students and members of staff. Colleagues speak highly of her commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, where students were encouraged to think critically and engage with legal principles in a meaningful way.
Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in ground-breaking research, with numerous publications that have enriched the academic discourse, including the widely read Family law, gender and the state: text, cases and materials that she co-authored with Professor Alison Diduck.
