The written evidence by Dr Ermioni Xanthopoulou and Dr Mohammad Nayyeri on 'The Human Rights of Asylum Seekers in the UK' has been published by the UK Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights on 1 March.
It highlights the incompatibility of the narrow interpretation of 'safe and legal routes' and the treatment of asylum seekers as ‘illegal’ with UK's human rights obligations, and raises concerns about the relocation of asylum seekers to third countries.
The written evidence coincides with the UK Government's introduction of the much debated Illegal Migration Bill.
The full text of the written evidence is available on the UK Parliament’s website.
