The first holder of Practice Law Professor at Brunel Law School, Suzanne Rab, has been appointed Non-executive Board Member of the Legal Aid Agency (LAA).

The board is responsible for governance of LAA and provides support and advice to the chief executive, and makes decisions on business priorities.

Suzanne has significant experience of advising on the development, implementation and application of new competition laws and regulatory regimes in line with international best practices, including in emerging markets.

She has also held positions at magic circle (a moniker for an elite group of five London law firms which share a focus on corporate and finance work) and leading international antitrust practices.

In additional to her role at Brunel, Professor Suzanne Rab is an independent barrister at Serle Court Chambers in London which she combines with her role as Practice Chair in Commercial Law.

The LAA board appointment continues to endorse the level of staff expertise within Brunel Law School and the University’s wider connections and contribution to the legal community.
