Brunel University London is pleased to announce that Professor Suzanne Rab has been appointed as one of four members of the UK Regulators Network (UKRN) Expert Advisory Panel.
The UKRN, a structure for regulators to consider common issues and policy projects, has made appointments to its expert panel from within consumer protection, regulatory law and economics, (Suzanne is a member of the board and a senior research associate at the Regulatory Policy Institute, a charity organisation dedicated to regulation and deregulation issues).
In addition to her work as a barrister at Serle Court, Suzanne is a Professor of Commercial Law and holds the Practice Chair at Brunel University London. She is also a law lecturer at the University of Oxford and Visiting Professor at Imperial College (specialising in IP and antitrust). The appointment reflects the increasing links between academia and professional practice in the multi-disciplinary spheres of law, policy, economics and regulation.
Suzanne leads Brunel’s Comparative Competition Law Summer School, now in it’s third year (for details of the 2021 programme see: Brunel Comparative Competition Law Summer School 2021 | Brunel University London).
Suzanne’s legal practice has a particular focus on the interface between competition law and economic regulation; she advises governments, regulators and businesses across the regulated sectors including in the communications, energy, financial services, healthcare/ pharmaceuticals, TMT and water sectors.
Suzanne is also a non-executive board member and member of the audit and risk committee of the Legal Aid Agency.
