On 27 May, Blake Morgan supported Brunel students in a presentation-style event via Zoom where the topic up for debate was ‘the impact of Covid-19 on the future provision of legal services’.
The firm was represented by current Trainee Solicitors Rishin Patel, Thomas Morgan and Alex Lepretre and Senior Paralegal and Future Trainee Solicitor Alex King.
Brunel law students, who were joined by Business management and politics students, were split into two teams and provided an insightful overview covering a range of interesting topics on how they thought the provision of legal services would change in the UK as result of the pandemic – not least, the increased use of legal services by virtual media.
The Blake Morgan representatives acted as judges and determined not only who won the debate, but afterwards, provided useful feedback and guidance on how each student could improve upon their performance going forward.
Next month, for the second year running, Blake Morgan in conjunction with PwC and Brunel University London will run a competition between mixed teams of Business and Law students centred around a case study on a global company from a legal and business perspective.
