Biography

Second Lieutenant Charles Spencer Day was the son of James Charles and Emma Day. Before attending Borough Road College he was matriculated at London University in June 1905. Day then spent two years at Borough Road College graduating with Intermediate Science. Whilst at the college he competed in tennis, cricket and rowing. He is listed as being destined for a school in Lower Tooting. He enlisted in the County of London Yeomanry in September 1814 and was sent to Egypt on 28 April 1915. He was later commissioned into the Royal Field Artillery in March 1917. Day was 31 when he died of wounds on 25 April 1918, possibly incurred during the German spring offensive.
