Biography
Sub-Lieutenant Dennis Henry Condick studied at Borough Road College from 1939 to 1941. After graduation Sub-Lieutenant Condick joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve’s Landing Craft Tank (LCT) 9th Flotilla. After the Normandy invasion the LCT were redirected to the east. However, as the flotilla was going around Land’s End they encountered bad weather and the ships were badly damaged. At least 55 men died, including Sub-Lieutenant Condick. He is remembered at Portsmouth Naval Memorial.
