Biography
Lieutenant Leonard Frederick Dixon attended Borough Road College for two years, and competed in both cricket and football while at the college. Academically he was proficient in geography, music and physics. He is listed as being destined for a school in Chelmsford. Dixon enlisted into the Essex Regiment and was later commissioned into the 11th Battalion South Wales Borderers. Dixon was later attached to 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers. He was killed 21 May 1918 whilst leading his men in a raid, he was 26.
