Biography

Flying Officer Roy Maxwell Quarendon graduated from Shoreditch College in 1936 and joined the Royal Air force Volunteer Reserve during the war. He was assigned to the 233 Squadron which was an anti-submarine that started in Norway in 1940 and worked its way to the Mediterranean. This resulted in the 233 being involved in the siege of Malta. As Malta was the most heavily bombed area of the war (the siege lasting 2 years, 5 months, 1 week and 2 days) nothing is known of Fg/Off Quarendons death other than it was on the 8th of November 1942, 12 days before the siege ended. He is remembered at the Malta Memorial.
