welcome guidearticle

A very warm welcome to our January starters!

Brunel Library is here to support you throughout your studies and help you prepare for your Brilliant Brunel future.

Here are 10 tips to get you started:

  1. Check out our Brunel Library Welcome Guide for a self-paced interactive introduction to Brunel Library.
  2. Your Brunel Student ID card is also your Brunel Library card. You will need this to enter the Library and borrow books. When using our online resources you may be asked for your library card number which is the top number on your Brunel Student ID card.
  3. The Library is currently open 24/7. You can find opening hours for the Library and our different services by checking out our Opening Hours
  4. Looking for books, articles, journals or other learning resources? Start your search by going to the Library website and clicking Log in to access online Library resources. If you don't do this some online resources might not recognise that you're trying to access them as a Brunel student!
  5. If you're living off campus and can't make it to the Library you can sue our Click and Post service to have books delivered straight to your door.
  6. If there's a resource you need for your studies that we don't have you can apply for a free Interlibrary Loan
  7. We have a range of study spaces including a Collaborative Study Space on the Ground Floor, Quiet Study Spaces on Floors 1, 2 and 3 and a Silent Study Space on Floor 3. You can also book Group Study Rooms
  8. Not sure what to read? Check out your module's Reading List
  9. Check out your Subject Guide to contact your subject's librarian and get help and information with literature searching, finding books and journal articles, referencing and avoiding plagiarism and more.
  10. We're here to help. If you have any questions or just want to say hello visit the Help Desk or Contact Us by email, phone or SMS
