Brunel University Sports Park has welcomed numerous high-profile athletes and sporting events over the years. In the last 3 years, £1.2 million has been invested into refurbishment bringing significant improvements to the existing playing surfaces and facilities. The refurbishment includes: the installation of an LED floodlighting system that not only illuminates the fields but also reduces the carbon footprint of the facility, making it environmentally sustainable. This investment has enabled the Sports Park to meet the growing demands of the sporting community and maintain its position as a leading Sports Facility for sporting excellence. Brunel ranks among the UK's best universities for sport since opening in 2003, with numerous changing rooms with showers, a teaching space which has also been used as a media/analysis room by many governing bodies as well as international teams. The refurbishments have enabled the Sports Park to welcome and host some of the country's - and the world's - top athletes.
Our ‘Centre Pitch’ has welcomed many professional teams like the Austrian men’s and Albanian Women’s national football teams, Queens Park Rangers U18’s as well the NFL team, Jacksonville Jaguars. Our synthetic 3G pitch certified by UEFA is not only perfect for both Football and Rugby training but ideal for 11 aside football matches. Alongside the 3G, there’s six Tennis courts, renovated in 2016 that are currently home to both Brunel University and Hillingdon Community Tennis Club, where social and competitive tennis is played. Furthermore, the dual use Netball courts are frequently used by Middlesex County Netball as well as Brunel Netball clubs. Finally, all these pitches are looked after by our grounds team who take pride in maintaining the pitches to provide the best playing experience for our athletes.
Brunel University’s Athletics track is certified to the IAAF standard and consists of a 6-lane 400m polyurethane surface, a high jump, long/triple jump area as well as a Full throwing facility that’s floodlit, making it perfect for all year-round training. The track has facilitated numerous elite-level athletes including Japan’s top athletes ahead of the World Championships, the Jamaican sprint as well as our Scholars.
The third-generation pitch is carefully engineered to cater to targeted practice sessions, ensuring players get the most out of their training sessions. Our innovative illumination and netting mechanism allows our 11-a-side pitch to be easily converted into three separate 7-a-side training areas, providing coaches and players with the flexibility they need. These versatile pitches are perfect for a wide range of sports, including recreational football sessions or tournaments, frisbee, and tag Rugby. It's important to note that our 3G pitch has recently passed rigorous testing to meet the strict quality requirements set by FIFA, ensuring that players can enjoy a high level playing experience.

Our multi-use synthetic surface crowds a variety of different sports, from football, ultimate Frisbee, to hockey and lacrosse which can be used all year round. The university has invested £250,000 into remedial works for our existing all-weather playing surface to ensure an outstanding sporting experience, characterised by a smooth playing surface, reliable ball bounce and a seamless roll. Furthermore, it contributes to environmental sustainability by minimising the use of sand, presenting an eco-friendly option. This field has been designed to meet the needs of full-sized hockey, tennis, netball, and 7-a-side football players, making it an excellent all-round utility. The versatility of this field is evident in the seamless transition from full-sized gameplay to conveniently subdivided areas for 7-a-side football, netball, lacrosse and tennis.

In June 2023, the university funded improvement works to our Dual-Usage Outdoor Courts with brand new floodlights being installed. We offer four outdoor netball courts frequently utilised by our Netball club teams and Middlesex counties netball. We value providing a seamless playing experience, which is why we have invested in our tennis court & netball courts to allow members longer access to our facilities in the winter months.
In addition, our courts are registered with the LTA and meet the standards for safeguarding and inclusivity.
