Advice on WISEflow assessments
Sometimes life doesn't go according to plan and this may cause you to feel unable to engage with an assessment. If this is the case, please don't struggle in silence. Instead, follow the guidance below:
WISEflow Exams
If you are enrolled in an exam, the participatiion start and end date / time defines the duration of your exam. Further information on exams are available at: The Examinations Page
If you find yourself unable to sit or finish your exam due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control (i.e. Extenuating Circumstances), please make sure to submit an Extenuating Circumstances claim via eVision. Once you have submitted an Extenuating Circumstances claim, the EC panel will decide on the outcome and you will be informed in due course.
Further information can be found in the EC guidance for students. You may also watch the video on "How to submit an Extenuating Circumstances claim in eVision" online.
Not sitting or completing an exam without an Extenuating Circumstances claim having been submitted will negatively impact your academic progress and may result in you being withdrawn from your course. |
If you have any questions or concerns about your studies, your personal tutor is here to support you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to them for advice and guidance. Information on who your personal tutor is can be found on eVision.
WISEflow Assignments
If it is an assignment / project, you can start submitting your work from the start date / time and your deadline is the end date / time. Please make sure that you submit your file(s) before the end date / time. Note that depending on your internet connection and the size of your files, it may take a long time to upload your work, so start and plan for the submission process ahead of the deadline.
If you find yourself unable to submit your work by the deadline due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control (i.e. Extenuating Circumstances), please submit either a Coursework Extension request (to request an extension of up to 5 working days) or an Extenuating Circumstances claim (if an extension of 5 working days is not enough to allow you to complete your work) via eVison.
If you requested and received a Coursework Extension, please continue to work on your assessment so that you will be able to submit by the extended deadline. If you find yourself unable to submit by the extended deadline due to ongoing Extenuating Circumstances, please make sure to submit an Extenuating Circumstances claim via eVision. If you haven’t submitted your assessment but have submitted an Extenuating Circumstances claim, the EC panel will decide on the outcome and you will be informed in due course.
Further information can be found in the Coursework Submission Policy and the EC guidance for Students. You may also find a video on "How to submit coursework extension requests and / or ECs on eVision" online.
If you haven’t submitted your assessment due to circumstances that were not unforeseen or beyond your control (i.e. your circumstances are not considered to be Extenuating Circumstances), please be aware that if this is your first attempt, your work will still be accepted for marking if you submit it within 48 hours of the original deadline. Your mark will however be capped at the pass/fail border (40/D- for Undergraduate students, 50/C- for Postgraduate students). For further information see the Coursework Submission Policy.
Not submitting coursework without a Coursework Extension request or an Extenuating Circumstances claim having been submitted will negatively impact your academic progress and may result in you being withdrawn from your course. |
