Brunel's second year students are heading to Institution of Mechanical Engineers Design Challenge finals!
This year, Brunel hosted the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Design Challenge, Greater London Regional (GLR) annual competition - which took place on 17-18 April.
The brief challenged teams to design and build a device that can climb and descend the inside of a tall clear pipe. Brunel’s ‘B’ team were crowned Year 2 GLR champions with outstanding device performance and design, followed by University of East London in second and Brunel’s ‘A’ team in third.
The winners now go forward with their internal pipe climbing device to the National Final in October at the IMechE headquarters in Birdcage Walk, Westminster. Congratulations to our team, we will be rooting for you in the finals!
