Brunel University London has been recognised in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019 as one of the top places globally to study sport, health and exercise sciences – and has seen a notable rise in art and design.
The rankings, out today, place Brunel in the top 51–100 bracket worldwide for sport-related subjects (11th in the UK), and show that art and design has moved up to the top 101–150 bracket (joint 20th in the UK).
Overall, Brunel was in the top 40 nationwide for 11 out of the 13 subject rankings it appeared in.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks the world's top universities in each of 48 subject areas, taking into account four sources: global surveys of academics and employers, which gauge each university's international reputation in each subject area; and two indicators which together measure the impact of a university's research.
