In July, Brunel alumna Priscilla Vivian visited Vienna to attend the Top Female Founders Summer School in an all-expense paid trip, funded by the Brunel Entrepreneur Hub.
Hosted by EIT Health, the programme invites female students and entrepreneurs with a background in engineering, medicine, business or life science, to share their innovative ideas to tackle healthcare challenges.
Priscilla was one of 100 participants of the programme and had the opportunity to learn from healthcare specialists and business experts, and be mentored by industry leaders. Working with a team, she developed a digital tool - from ideation to launch - to help manage hypertension and stress.
She said: “This experience has directly aligned with my current research project for my MSc at Brunel, which focuses on racial equity in digital health. The project has given me deeper insight into the importance of inclusive, accessible health solutions that address the unique needs of underserved communities.
“Before attending the program, I was in the ideation phase of developing a digital platform for underserved founders. As a non-technical founder bootstrapping my way forward, it has been challenging to bring this idea to life. However, I've decided to break it into phases, starting with the launch of a peer-support group for entrepreneurs as phase one. I’m truly grateful to the Brunel Entrepreneur Hub team for this opportunity and hope to return as a mentor for future cohorts.”
