The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are residents of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialise with one another.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will facilitate creative activities playing a key role in promoting creativity, fostering artistic skills, and providing opportunities for clients to explore and develop their artistic talents. As an Arts Crafts Activities Leader, you will learn a set of skills such as creativity, project management, event planning, and exhibition.

Typical duties include:

  • Creating a diverse range of art and craft activities suitable for clients
  • Preparing resources prior to the beginning of a session ensuring workshops run smoothly and meet the needs of participants
  • Instructing participants in various art and craft techniques, demonstrating the process, and providing step-by-step guidance
  • Encouraging participants to explore their creativity and express themselves artistically

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
