Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people living in the boroughs of Runnymede, Spelthorne, Woking, parts of Elmbridge, Hounslow, Surrey Heath and beyond. The organisation provides a whole range of services across its hospital sites. The majority of planned care, like day case, orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation services, is provided at Ashford Hospital, with more complex medical and surgical care and emergency services at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will actively contribute to the therapeutic and aesthetic enhancement of the hospital environment. As a Garden Volunteer, you will acquire gardening and horticultural skills, team collaboration, communication, and attention to detail in maintaining outdoor spaces.
Typical duties include:
- Engaging in regular maintenance activities, including weeding and tidying
- Implementing tasks such as pruning, planting, and general maintenance to enhance the overall appearance and vitality of these outdoor spaces.
- Ensuring the quadrangle gardens remain visually appealing and create a serene atmosphere for patients and visitors
- Participating in the planning and execution of initiatives that highlight the therapeutic benefits of green spaces
Please note, this organisation requires a CV, a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week as well as two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
