Details of the Charity:

The London Museum of Water and Steam is a historic building offering a fun and educational day out for families that want to learn more about London's water supply, the site, its people, and the pumping engines. The organisation has the world’s largest collection of stationary steam pumping engines and a Waterworks Gallery that traces the development of London’s clean water supply. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will greet visitors, answer questions, and ensure that they have the information they need, creating a welcoming and efficient environment for them. As a Front of the house Volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as customer service, communication, active listening, problem solving, and time management.

Typical duties include:

  • Providing a friendly greeting for all visitors, listening to their needs
  • Assisting with ticket and shop sales, promoting Gift Aid with ticket transactions
  • Taking responsibility for money handling and end-of-day till procedures
  • Helping with events and other visitor experience activities as needed

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
