Harlington Hospice – Retail Shop Volunteer

Harlington Hospice is a specialized form of healthcare working throughout the London Borough of Hillingdon. The organisation aims to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families by providing comfort, pain management, and emotional support to patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.  

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be providing support to the shop manager in a retail setting. As a Retail Shop Volunteer, you will acquire problem-solving, customer service, sales, and merchandising skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service and communication to customers, staff, and fellow volunteers
  • Operating and managing the till system, sorting, and organise donated teams for display on the shop floor
  • Raising awareness and encouraging customers to participate in the charity’s Gift Aid program and Hospice lottery
  • Assisting in promoting the charity and its fundraising events to increase awareness and support the cause

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
