The Blind Veterans are committed to provide veterans with access to the highest quality services and support in order to honour their invaluable service to the country. The programmes meet the unique needs of each veteran, including access to advanced technologies, expert training, and ongoing assistance from compassionate professionals.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will drive veterans from their homes to social clubs. As a Driver Volunteer, you can improve your driving abilities such as navigation, adherence to traffic rules, and driving in various weather and road conditions.
Typical duties include:
- Transporting veterans from point A to B
- Prioritising the safety and comfort of the veterans
- Assisting with boarding and embarking from the vehicles
- Providing friendly and supportive interaction during the journey
Please note, this role require a DBS check and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months
