Solidarity Sports is a charity dedicated to harnessing the transformative potential of play and physical activity in aiding vulnerable children on their path to recovery from complex trauma. The organisation focuses on supporting vulnerable children in West London, primarily aged 5-11, who have faced various challenges, including mental health issues, additional educational needs, and histories of abuse. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will actively engage with vulnerable children recovering from complex trauma and PTSD, participating in a variety of exciting activities during school holidays, such as bouldering and ice-skating. As a Children's Activity Support Volunteer, you will gain valuable skills in child support, trauma recovery, and activity coordination. 

Typical duties include:

  • Participating in and supervising various activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for the children
  • Fostering a compassionate and understanding environment for children, listening to their needs, and offering emotional support when needed
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of holiday activities, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and therapeutic
  • Providing feedback to the organisation's support team to tailor future activities and support plans for individual children

Please note, this role requires a DBS check and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
