FoodCycle - Hosting Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

FoodCycle is a charity largely run by volunteers and operating over England and Wales with 85 weekly community meals. The organisation is at the forefront of tackling food poverty, social isolation, and waste, transforming unused food into nourishing three-course meals fostering meaningful conversations, nourishing the hungry, and giving company to the lonely.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will support the FoodCycle team fostering a hospitable and inclusive atmosphere for guests. As a Hosting Volunteer, you will develop customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting with the coordination and execution of meal services
  • Engaging with guests by serving food and participating in communal dining
  • Stimulating dialogue among guests to promote a friendly and social environment
  • Ensuring the dining area is tidy and ready for future use, maintaining a pleasant environment 

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
