The Brain Tumour is a charity dedicated to a world without brain tumor victims. The organisation invest in forward-thinking research, specialist support services, and lobbying for more urgent change as the research into brain tumours is still woefully underfunded, within just 3% of the money spent each year on cancer research in the UK spent on brain tumours.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will help to engage the local community and raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity’s research. As a Charity Ambassador, you will speak to a wide variety of people, develop your team building skills, and apply your existing skills while learning new ones.
Typical duties include:
- Working in the local area to raise awareness of the charity and fundraising campaigns
- Representing the charity in the local area, for example in schools, local companies and community groups
- Helping to recruit new fundraisers
- Supporting those who have signed up to fundraise
Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months. You will also be required to undergo a DBS check and provide two references.
