Compass Theatre - Puppet Production Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

The Compass Theatre provides residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon with subsidized culture and arts spaces and venues, for producers of public art activity which is for the artistic or educational benefit of Hillingdon residents, on a non-profit basis.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will provide support and assistance in the creation, organisation, and execution of puppetry productions (all characters from the play Hans, The Witch, and The Gobbin by Alan Cullen). As a Puppet Production Volunteer, you will learn to construct and designs puppet, costume design and crafting, script, and storytelling.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting in the construction, assembly, and repair of the puppets
  • Helping with the design and creation of costumes and accessories for the puppets
  • Operating tips from other members and skills from invited guests
  • Collaborating on rewriting short, puppet-friendly excerpts from the original scripts

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
