Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people living in the boroughs of Runnymede, Spelthorne, Woking, parts of Elmbridge, Hounslow, Surrey Heath and beyond. The organisation provides a whole range of services across its hospital sites. The majority of planned care, like day case, orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation services, is provided at Ashford Hospital, with more complex medical and surgical care and emergency services at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will raise issues and discuss them with other panel members. As a Patient Panel, you will acquire effective communication, collaborative decision-making, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

Typical duties include:

  • Attending bi-monthly meetings to actively contribute to discussions on hospital facilities and procedure
  • Discussing the existing hospital facilities, assessing their effectiveness in meeting patient needs
  • Engaging in dialogue regarding hospital procedures, analysing their efficiency and patient-friendliness
  • Contributing thoughtful and constructive suggestions aimed at enhancing the quality of hospital facilities and procedures

Please note, this organisation requires a CV, a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week as well as two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
