The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are residents of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialise with one another.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be responsible for directing the affairs of DASH, ensuring it is solvent, well-run, and delivering charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public. As a Trustee volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as governance expertise, financial literacy, strategic thinking, risk management, and ethical decision-making.
Typical duties include:
- Ensuring DASH complies with charity law, and with the requirements of the Charity Commission
- Preparing reports on what the charity has achieved and Annual Returns and accounts
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all trust-related activities
- Communicating regularly with the beneficiaries and keeping them informed about the trust performance
Please note, this role requires a minimum 12 months commitment.
