Details of the Charity:

The Scout Association aims to equip young people with skills for life, helping them to reach their full potential. It offers opportunities for young people to embark on new adventures, explore the outdoors, and participate in a variety of creative, community, and international activities. Along the way, they will interact with others, make new friends, and build confidence.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will assist the Scout Leaders in the planning and delivery of the programme to young people in Scouting. As a Scout Assistant Leader, you will acquire skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and organisational abilities.

Typical duties include:

  • Running games and activities as part of weekly section meetings and other section events
  • Planning and Coordinating various aspects of residential experiences such as accommodations, meals, transportation, activities
  • Providing support to the section by taking part in a varied, exciting, and safe programme of activities
  • Assisting young people to achieve badges and awards 

Please note, this role require a DBS check and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
