Free to Be Kids - Residential Project Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

Free to be Kids is a charity that supports children and young people who are struggling with social or emotional difficulties and helps them to rebuild self-esteem, boost resilience and explore this emotions challenges. The organisation work with disadvantaged children across London creating lasting changes for vulnerable children emotional health through a range of outdoors, nature and arts activities.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will help children feel more confident in who they are by supporting other team members involved in the planning and execution of residential construction or development projects. As a Residential Project Assistant, you will learn a set of skills such as project management, communication, organisational, budgeting, and cost management.

Typical duties include:

  • Supporting vulnerable children in changing their narratives and building self-confidence
  • Utilising the power of the outdoors, animals, nature, and self-expression in the programs
  • Assisting in organising overnight adventures, nature-based residential, after-school groups, and mentoring programs
  • Facilitating activities such as meeting animals, building dens, rafting, beach visits, cooking, camping, and so on

Please note, this role requires a DBS check and two references; the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
