IntoUniversity is a charity dedicated to creating a safe space for young people to learn, explore and succeed. The organisation provides space and support for young people to learn, targeting those in disadvantaged communities, and ensuring a better opportunity to go to university and exit the cycle of poverty.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be paired with a secondary school student to support their academic, social and future development. As a University Student Mentor, you will develop your leadership and communication skills, as well as having the opportunity to meet other mentors.
Typical duties include:
- Connecting with your mentee on a fortnightly basis
- Help your mentee develop their soft skills in 1:1 sessions
- Be a friendly face for mentees who might be struggling
- Attending group events to meet and network with other mentors from across London
Please note, the organisation requires that you to commit to a minimum of 3 months. The organisation will conduct an Enhanced DBS check.
