DASH - Arabic Interpreter

Details of the Charity:

The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are residents of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialise with one another.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you’ll work within the advice and advocacy service to support clients with form filling, meetings and more. As an Arabic Interpreter, you will have the opportunity to further develop your communication skills, meet new people, and engage in conversation with the clients.

Typical duties include:

  • Taking part in meetings
  • Acting as an independent voice between the client and DASH
  • Meeting with clients and collecting relevant information
  • Inputting client details into the computer

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months
