Sport in Mind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of people with mental health issues through physical activity. The organisation provides sports programmes that designed by people with personal experience of mental health issues to aid the recovery of people across the community, ensuring a better quality of long-term life.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will attend a regular session to provide a familiar face for attendees. As a Session volunteer, you will improve your confidence and develop knowledge of health and safety and events management.
Typical duties include:
- Welcoming attendees to the session
- Engaging with attendees in a calm, friendly and non-judgmental manner
- General setting up and tidying up for sessions
- Spotting potential hazards and taking preventative measures
Please note, the organization requires that you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
