The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are residents of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialise with one another.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will support the running of the day to day activity sessions at the DASH Hub, including football, basketball, bingo, arts and crafts, drama, line dancing, golf and tennis, allowing you to develop your interpersonal skills, as well as helping you meet other people in the local community.
Typical duties include:
- Helping to set up activities and clear up afterwards
- Running a variety of sports and crafts events, including football, bingo, line dancing, and much more
- Encouraging people to join the activities and making new members feel included
- Sharing your enthusiasm for activities
Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
