Hillingdon Foodbank is a charity providing three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to families going through difficult times and crises in the Borough of Hillingdon. The organisation is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be involved in helping to promote the work of the food bank and encourage donations through a wide range of communications channels. As a PR and Communications Volunteer, you will acquire skills such as becoming a better public speaker, research and analysis skills.
Typical duties include:
- Planning and advertising for public events and recruitment of volunteers
- Developing regular foodbank newsletters for circulation to supporters
- Developing regular prayer bulletins for local churches
- Preparing and sending press releases for significant Kingsborough events
Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months. The role also requires a DBS check and a CV.
