Compass Theatre - Wardrobe Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

The Compass Theatre provides residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon with subsidized culture and arts spaces and venues, for producers of public art activity which is for the artistic or educational benefit of Hillingdon residents, on a non-profit basis.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will undertake the hiring out and putting back of costumes to external hires, along with general sorting and thinning out of the costume stock on site. As a Wardrobe Volunteer, you will get a unique behind-the-scenes perspective of how productions are put together, learning skills such as sewing, organisation, and attention to detail.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting with the organisation and cataloging of the costume inventory
  • Making sure that all pieces are accounted for and properly stored
  • Helping costume hires find the items they need
  • Ensuring costumes are kept clean and fresh for subsequent use 

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
