Details of the Charity:

H4All is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) made up of five prominent third-sector charities, Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent, DASH, Carers Trust Hillingdon, Harlington Hospice and Hillingdon Mind. The organisation has developed a holistic, social prescribing approach to improving the health and well-being of residents in Hillingdon by simplifying access to the resources and services provided by third-sector organisations and promoting alternative community-based support. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be supporting a person on a weekly basis over the phone or face-to-face, either in their home or accompanying them to an activity in the community. As a Befriender, you will develop communication and problem-solving skills while enhancing interpersonal skills such as empathy, compassion, cultural competence, patience, and understanding. 

Typical duties include:

  • Establishing a consistent visiting schedule 
  • Providing emotional support and a listening ear to individuals, allowing them to share their thoughts, concerns, and experiences
  • Helping people to connect with their community by accompanying them on outings
  • Supporting people to access services that may assist them to manage their needs

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
